San Miguel pale pilsen is the best beer in the Philippines. Maybe one of the best lager beers in the world. It is my favorite.
Filipino time:

Dear Jan,
If you are right, I have to taste it. Have you already tasted the ” Red Horse ” ?
By the way, I hope you did not forget the Dutch Lagers.
Nice blog
Regards,
Cas
Hi cas,
Nice to hear from you.
The moment you are visiting the Philippines, you will have enough possibilities to try San Miguel.
Red Horse is a strong beer, but I do not like it.
The only Dutch lager available here in the Philippines is Heineken and cost about 4 x what San Miguel costs.
Regards to Ding.
Hi Jan,
will sent your greetings to Ding. And I am looking forward to taste the ” SM “.
Greetings to tiya deling.
Better get here soon, I am getting thirsty…..
San Miguel is the best. I started drinking it back in the days when there was almost nothing else. We drank a lot. At the sari sari San Miguel was P2. Bottle deposit was P2.5. Really.
Red Horse? Well here is my opinion of how they make it. The horse drinks two gallons of San Miguel then they put a bucket under the horse. That’s the Red Horse.
And the “red” comes when you drink this stuff ??
Hi great beer enjoy
Michael,
Come to the Philippines and have one on me !
Yeah, I like the San Mig light. Get it in thailand too. But, was sick of beer in Boracay and started on the beautiful brown rum, Tanduay, is it? That was a welcome change to feeling bloated. Trouble is, my feet seemed to want to go in different directions.
Better try San Mig again. Your feet keep on gonig to the store to buy more
san miguel… is a very good beer… probably the best in the world…i have drunk alot of beer in my time…..ater coming back from phils..can’t seem to handle the lousey taste of our local beer…can’t wait to get back to phils…and into my beloved RED HORSE
Merv,
Thanks for stopping by at my site.
Yes, San Miguel Pale Pilsen is one of the best lagers in the world. And I can testify that I have been drinking a lot different ones. I am from Holland where are several good breweries, and I have tasted all Dutch beers. I also tasted a lot of German and Belgian ones. The US ones I do not like.
There is also a San Miguel beer in Spain. But this one doesn’t taste as good as the one in the Philippines. (maybe the water what is used?)
SEEMS YOU ENJOY TALKING ABOUT RED HOURSE AND SAN MIG,,,,
Hi Joan,
Correction: talking about Red Horse WHILE drinking San Mig.
Most foreigners and locals above 30 years old enjoys San Miguel. But locals who are below 30 enjoys Red Horse. This is just a generalization though.
Hi Mark,
Thanks for visiting my website.
I think that most Filipino’s are not social drinkers. They mostly drink to get drunk and forget their problems. Maybe that’s the reason they like the red horse so much, and the gin and brandy too.
